Narrative in music videos and Andrew Goodwin Theory
There are 3 different types of music videos Narrative performance concept A narrative is a spoken or written account of connected events which make a story line. Narratives in music videos can be alike films in that there is a distinctive plot and characters acting to reflect the lyrics and genre of the song. However, not all music videos has these distinct plots or styles as some may decide to defy narratives to try and be more creative and engage the viewer more. A classical nareative is one which includes Exposition- the beginning of the video Rising Action- when the acting starts to take place Climax- when the rising action is peaking and becomes more tense Falling action- happens after the climax when the event has happened and going back to normal Denouement- the action has gone back to normal Narrative Arc- is a story which is extended or continuing storyline in episodic storytelling media such as television, video game...
