Todorov's Narrative Theory
Todorov's narrative theory was created in 1969 the theory suggests that all narratives follow a 3 part structure. He believed all films followed the same narrative structure. here are the 5 stages of the theory
Equilibrium- Beginning of where the narrative is good and nothing is wrong
State of disruption- Where the disruption starts occurring and the issue happens that needs to be resolved
Recognition- The hero becomes aware of the situation and tries to help
Repair- The hero attempts to repair and fix the damage of the issue and solve the problem
New equilibrium- the end of the piece where all is resolved
